Product Description

Pressure relief valves, as the name suggests, relieve interior tank pressure when it rises above the 14.7 PSI (1 atmosphere). Our tanks are warrantied as a low pressure system. A pressure vacuum valve prevents the interior pressure from going below -1.5 PSI and thus potentially imploding the tank. Situations where this may occur is during a quick cool down, such as after a cleaning process, or when draining quickly. For protection of tanks against over-pressure or vacuum. Required for most tanks to be covered by Warranty.

Specification

Sanitary Solutions Tank Pressure Vacuum Relief Valves work in the following ways-- From the Vacuum side, when the valve is normally closed and there is vacuum in the tank, the vacuum piston inside the valve opens automatically and draws air into the tank. In return, this keeps the pressure inside and outside the tank balanced. From the Pressure side, when the valve is normally closed and the tank pressure exceeds the rated pressure on the outside of the valve, the valve automatically opens and vents air to atmosphere.

As for installation of the clamp style Tank Pressure Vacuum Relief Valve, position the valve on the process line and tighten the nut or fasten the clamp according to the fastening system selected and if you are using the clamp style it is recommended to use a clamp gasket and tighten the wing nut of the Heavy Duty Single Pin Clamp to 25 inch pounds of torque.

Note: Since this valve has been set at 15 psi (pressure), any pressure exceeding 15 psi, this valve will open and expel to atmosphere, thus protecting the tank from over pressurizing.
